Quick report
Snow in the Friendlies was creamy and reasonably good skiing. Hand pit at ~5000' showed two layers in the storm snow about 3" and 6" deep that broke with a moderate to hard pull. No signs of instability while skiing. After dropping off the N side and skinning to the saddle south of Avalanche Mt we started to see storm slab/wet loose entraining the top ~3" of snow on the W aspects. Not sure if the change compared to Friendlies was due to the general warming trend or due to lower elevation (4800') and different aspect.
Avalanche
Natural (triggered by shedding from cliffs) and ski cut triggered slides on W aspects ~4800' west of the Thunder Basin/Snow Lake Basin saddle. Top ~3" of storm snow slid on mid-storm interface, but propagation was minimal (maybe a few feet from skis) so more wet loose character than storm slab. Didn't see anything step down to deeper layers. All D0.5-D1.
