Quick report

Winter returned up high! 4-5" of fluffy snow from the prior night sat atop the foot+ of snow that fell earlier in the storm above ~9000'. We didn't see any signs of instability while cutting our skin track or while skiing (9800'-7300'). The snow was mid-winter dry for our first lap around 11:00 am on a NW aspect - a real treat! The snow became noticeably heavier (but still good) by our second lap on the same aspect with the strong off-and-on April sun. No wind effect on the ridge up to 9800' (we didn't go above treeline). Given the new snow and complexities of the current snowpack, we stuck to our plan and avoided avalanche terrain except for a few short steeper pitches.
