Snowpack

Bare ground on southerly aspects snow on northerly aspects in this area. Above treeline areas have been scoured and snow cover isn't very continuous above treeline. Near treeline is a different story with 6 inches of faceted snow on northerly aspect terrain. The vast majority of areas do not have slab on top of the weak, faceted snow. However, I was able to find and test some small areas of wind slab, with ECTP-1 results. This is likely indicative of future instability if a new snow slab is added to the current state snowpack.

The snowpack in this area is weak but will remain mostly unproblematic unless encountering an isolated area with overlying wind slab. Once it snows enough to put a new snow slab on top of the existing weak snowpack, conditions are expected to change.
