Overnight 1/19-20 inversion caused rollerballs and formed thin zipper on surface. Dug a profile at 6644' and found storm snow to be very slightly upside down, and much of the upper snowpack to consist of a repeating pattern of old wind slabs. Subtly faceted January 8th interface down 84cm failed at ECT-P(28). This layer is suspected to be responsible for significant but isolated whumphing 600' lower in the terrain where the layer was likely shallower due to rocks and wind exposure. Snowpit photo shows depth of 1/8 layer.
