Overall, instability was very limited to non-existent during our day. We observed recent (and ongoing) wind loading above 7000'. I was expecting to see much more "in-your-face" instability.

Snowing lightly during the AM snowmobile ride. Snow turned off around 1000 and never turned back on. Lots of moisture in the air with thick clouds most of the day. The snow forecast didn't manifest. Clouds became slightly less overcast in the PM and could see sporadically. Winds were light to moderate out of the W/SW.
Snowpack
We dug three different pits today at a variety of elevations and different aspects. 20-30 cm (8-12") storm total thus far. Overall, the structure was fairly similar and the test results were remarkably similar in each pit. Moderate failures were observed in all pits within recent storm snow on different density changes. No clear persistent weak layers were observed within the upper 40-50 cm (16-20"). Older 12/7-12/13 weak layers were very stubborn and not propagating.
