Forecast Snow Stability: Little change is expected. The patchy snow cover may soften slightly during the day but it will remain well bonded and stable. Greatest amounts will be found in North to East facing corries above 900 metres and towards the main Cairngorms. The avalanche hazard will be Low.

Snowpack Structure

Forecast Weather Influences: The freezing level will be above the summits with light rain forecast from mid-afternoon. Winds will be very strong, West-South-West or South-Westerly during the day. Observed Weather Influences: A cloudy and dull day. Freezing level was around 930 metres with a fresh breeze from the West. ObservedSnowStability: Remaining snow is firm, well bonded and stable. Greatest amounts are around North to East aspects above 900 metres. The avalanche hazard is Low.
