TO for 20.3. The snowpack will be firm, well bonded and stable. Some surface softening where exposed to the sun. Low Hazard.

Forecast Snow Stability: The snowpack will remain generally well bonded and stable. Above 800 metres any surface softening of the snow will firm up as the freezing level lowers. Below this level some surface softening can be expected on aspects directly exposed to the sun. Best snow cover remains on North-West through East to South aspects above 750 metres. The avalanche hazard will be Low.

Snowpack Structure

Forecast Weather Influences: It will remain dry with sunny or clear periods. The winds will be strong South-East overnight, then lowering in strength by the early hours becoming fresh. At first the freezing level will remain well above the summits lowering to around 800 metres by tomorrow. Observed Weather Influences: It has been a dry, bright and clear day. Winds were fresh to strong South-Easterly. ObservedSnowStability: The snowpack is generally firm, well bonded and stable with some surface softening on sun exposed aspects. At lower levels the snowpack is depleting. The avalanche hazard is Low.
