Some fresh snow
Avalanche danger is low. Isolated avalanche prone locations lie behind abrupt changes in the terrain. Ridgeline zones require particular caution. A slab triggering cannot be ruled out.
Over the last 24 hours there has been up to 20 cm fresh snow registered in the region. At lower altitudes the meadows were blanketed, at intermediate altitudes the snow was deposited on top of a settled old snowpack. In places, the snow was deposited atop surface hoar (and now blankets it).
In the morning, clouds and fog will disperse. On the southern flank of the Alps, dry and sunny weather will gradually prevail. The sharp, cold NW wind will slacken of during the course of the day. At 2000m: -9 degrees.
