In sintesi

In very isolated cases weak layers exist deep in the old snowpack on very steep shady slopes.

Problemi valanghivi

  • Persistent weak layers

    • Above 2,200 m
  • Wet snow

    • Below 2,100 m

Avalanche Activity

In very isolated cases weak layers exist deep in the old snowpack on very steep shady slopes.

Isolated avalanche prone weak layers exist in the old snowpack adjacent to ridgelines and in gullies and bowls. In particular on near-ridge slopes the avalanches can be triggered in the various wind slab layers. As a consequence of warming during the day and solar radiation individual wet and gliding avalanches are possible, but they will be mostly small.

Snowpack Structure

As a consequence of rising temperatures and rain up to approximately 2100 m a crust formed on the surface. Individual weak layers exist in the snowpack in particular on shady slopes.
