Avalanche Activity
Forecast Snow Stability: The snowpack will continue to slowly consolidate and stability will be good in all locations and elevations. The surface will become firm overnight, softening during the day. The greatest continuous snow amounts will exist mainly on North to Easterly aspects above 850 metres patchy cover below this level. Any remaining cornices will be unstable affecting slopes below. The avalanche hazard will be Low.
Snowpack Structure
Forecast Weather Influences: High pressure continues to bring dry conditions through the period with partly clear overnight skies which may produce some patchy frost in sheltered glens. The main freezing level will remain well above all the summits. The moderate South-Westerly winds will ease slightly but remain South-Westerly. Observed Weather Influences: Dry throughout the forecast period. Sunny during the day with the freezing level well above the summits and light variable winds which were mostly Southerly. ObservedSnowStability: The snowpack surface is slowly thawing and softening but the overall snowpack stability remains good. The greatest continuous snow amounts exist mainly on North to Easterly aspects above 850 metres patchy cover below this level. The avalanche hazard is Low.
