The snowpack remains generally stable. The small amount of fresh snow that fell on Tuesday along the border with Piedmont may, in isolated cases, cause avalanches on extremely steep slopes above approximately 2300 m. In these regions individual small moist snow slides are possible as the day progresses, in the event of prolonged bright spells in particular on extremely steep sunny slopes. Weak layers in the old snowpack can be released in isolated cases and mostly by large additional loads. These avalanche prone locations are to be found in particular on extremely steep shady slopes above approximately 2400 m and at transitions from a shallow to a deep snowpack.

Towards its surface, the snowpack is largely stable and its surface has a melt-freeze crust that is strong in many cases. In steep terrain there is a danger of falling here. In some regions 2 to 5 cm of snow fell on Tuesday above approximately 2200 m. Especially steep shady slopes high altitudes and the high Alpine regions: Snow that is very compacted on the surface and stabilised by the stormy winds at the end of February, or composed of faceted crystals and, locally, snow with weak cohesion and surface frost. Weak layers exist in the old snowpack here. Adjacent to ridgelines and in pass areas as well as at high altitude snow depths vary greatly, depending on the infuence of the wind. In some regions 2 to 5 cm of snow, and up to 10 cm in some localities, will fall in the evening above approximately 2200 m. This snow will be deposited on surface hoar in particular on shady slopes.

The weather will be sunny at times. Slight increase in danger of moist and wet avalanches as a consequence of warming during the day and solar radiation. This applies on very steep sunny slopes below approximately 2700 m.
