Central Cascades

Cooler temperatures and cloudy skies on Sunday will decrease the hazard from Wet Loose avalanches.  Any new snow shouldn't accumulate enough to create any avalanche problems.  Low hazard means generally safe avalanche conditions, but continue to watch for unstable snow on isolated terrain features.

Warm, sunny weather on Friday and Saturday resulted in many Loose Wet avalanches.  Sunday is expected to be a bit cooler and cloudy, which means there won't be as much snow melting and Wet Loose avalanches are much less likely.  The snow surface has definitely been impacted by the spring-like conditions, and any slopes that have seen the sun will be crusty tomorrow morning.  A little bit of new snow is in the forecast, but there won't be enough to create any new avalanche problems.  There are currently no problematic persistent weak layers in our snowpack.
