Clear skies and warm temps this weekend. Wet loose avalanches will be most active in the afternoon on steep solar slopes.
No new avalanches observed the past few days, however limited field observations.
A thin new surface crust exists on all solar aspects, this will break down through the day with warm temps. 15-30 new storm snow sits on top of an old melt-freeze crust and a slowly refreezing snowpack below that. The January drought layer lies 50 –130 cm deep, with snow depths at treeline averaging 130–200 cm.
