Avalanche Summary

Generally safe avalanche conditions exist because of the overall shallow and sparse snow cover.

New snow and drifting winds over the weekend and through Monday built small slabs of drifted snow at the highest elevations on north, northeast, and east-facing slopes. This drifts don't extend far below the ridgeline or even across entire slopes, but you might trigger a small slide where they're resting on old, weak snow from the Fall. Even a small avalanche can be dangerous if you are dragged across rocks or off a cliff. Cracking in drifted snow and audible collapses are signs to avoid steep slopes with continuous snow cover.
