Tetons
Pericolo valanghe
In sintesi
Pockets of soft slabs to a foot in depth from recent snows could be human triggered on steep avalanche starting zones at the upper elevations. The new snow rests on slick crusts. Sunshine will rapidly warm the new snow and wet-loose sloughs, human triggered and natural, should be expected on sunlit slopes. At the mid elevations the spring snowpack is mostly stable. At the lower elevations the snowpack is limited to areas of shallow patchy snow.
Avalanche Discussion
High pressure over the area will permit warming temperatures and dry conditions. Mountain temperatures will drop to the mid 20s overnight then warm to the upper 40s Monday. Ridge top winds will be southwesterly at 10 miles per hour.Pockets of surface slab to a foot in depth could be user triggered at upper elevations. Areas under ridge crests and cornices that have remained dry should be treated as suspect. The remainder of snowpack at all elevations consists of thick melt-freeze crusts and is mostly stable. The avalanche danger is expected to be LOW.
