In sintesi

The snowpack is mostly stable but be alert to isolated pockets of slab up to 18 inches in depth that rest on a persistent weak layer of buried surface hoar on a hard crust. Suspect slopes would likely be at higher elevations on steep, shaded terrain. Avalanches are unlikely below an elevation of 8,500 feet where snow depths are generally less than than a foot.

Avalanche Discussion

( Discussion is generated from the previous day's afternoon forecast. )A fast moving Pacific system is to deliver one to three inches of snow to the mountains between tonight and late morning Thursday. Warm temperatures will result in a mix of snow and rain in the valleys as well as in some mountain locations. Southwest winds averaging 20-25 mph are to accompany this snowfall. The general avalanche hazard is expected to be Moderate in the Teton area tomorrow. In isolated areas above 9000 feet, pockets of slab lie on crusts formed in October. These slabs could be triggered in very steep terrain with depths up to two feet. In the Togwotee Pass area and the Southwest Trails area where the rating will be Low, hazard is likely limited to isolated pockets of slab in high, steep Northerly terrain.
