In sintesi

The general avalanche hazard is CONSIDERABLE. The upper elevations have received a foot or more of light density snow in the past 48 hours with moderate west winds. Riders and skiers could trigger soft slabs to two feet in depth and rapidly building sloughs on steep, lee slopes. The slabs rest on slick crusts and will continue to grow in depth and sensitivity through the day. At lower elevations be alert to locally deeper accumulations and the danger of sloughs running into road cuts or ravines.

Avalanche Discussion

( Discussion is generated from the previous day's afternoon forecast. )An upper level low will move toward Wyoming Tuesday night bringing light to moderate snowfall and lows in the mid teens. Snow will increase in intensity and coverage Wednesday. Areas of heavy snow are expected Wednesday afternoon with mountain total accumulations of several inches. Winds will be westerly during the day at 15 to 20 miles per hour. The general avalanche hazard will begin at Low Wednesday morning then rapidly increase with heavy snow at upper elevations. The new snow will be falling on smooth crusts and easily triggered sloughs or soft slabs of dangerous size will become an increasing danger through the day.
