Forecast Snow Stability: The patchy snow cover will freeze becoming firm and often icy underfoot. Greatest amounts will be found above 600 metres in any wind sheltered locations. The avalanche hazard will be Low.

Snowpack Structure

Forecast Weather Influences: It will be dry throughout. The freezing level will drop to 600 metres overnight but sharply rise in the afternoon to above the summits. Winds will be fresh to strong, initially from the North-West but becoming South-West by the end of the day. Observed Weather Influences: A cloudy but dry day. The freezing level was around 800 metres by mid morning. Winds were moderate in strength, South-West to West. ObservedSnowStability: There is a firm but patchy snow cover on most aspects above 600 metres. Deepest areas are to be found in many wind sheltered locations and are well bonded throughout. Becoming icy in some locations. The avalanche hazard is Low.
