In sintesi

The chance continues for backcountry travelers to trigger very large, deep hard slab avalanches in steep, north facing terrain above 9,000 feet. On a variety of aspects and elevations, a slight chance persists to trigger isolated pockets of wind slab from the previous storm cycle on very steep, avalanche prone slopes that were not affected by warm, inverted temperatures. Evaluate the snowpack and terrain carefully, and identify features of concern.

    Weak snow persists near the base of the snowpack on northwesterly through northeasterly aspects above 9,000 feet. Skiers and riders have the potential to trigger full depth avalanches on this layer in steep, avalanche prone terrain. Large triggers, such as snowmobiles or groups of people, are more likely to be able to impact this weak layer.

( Discussion is generated from the previous day's afternoon forecast. )Expect mostly dry conditions overnight before the chance for light snow showers increases during the day. Overnight lows in the mountains will be in the upper single digits before returning into the upper teens during the day. Southerly ridgetop winds will range from 10 to 20 miles per hour.The general avalanche hazard is expected to be Low in the Tetons. Low hazard does not mean no hazard. Skiers and riders venturing into to very steep, avalanche prone terrain might be able to trigger an isolated pocket of surface slab.In the Togwotee Pass and Greys River areas, the hazard is expected to be Moderate. The primary concern in the Togwotee Pass forecast zone will be persistent deep slabs on northerly aspects above 9,000 feet. In the Greys River area, it will be unlikely to trigger one of these slides, but due to their high consequences it still warrants mention. Pockets of surface slab up to 30 inches deep could also be triggered down south.
