In sintesi

Avalanche conditions are quiet and the danger is generally LOW. The shallow nature of the snowpack with all the underlying rocks and logs presents more danger to the backcountry traveler than avalanche conditions do right now.

Snow and Weather

Current Conditions: Mild weather continued on Monday. There really isn't enough snow to do much more than scoot around mountain roads on a snowmobile right now. There's just not quite enough for downhill skiing or snowboarding. I fear the small amount of snow we have is going to deteriorate and turn into sugary faceted grains before we get more snow.

Mountain Weather: Temperatures are going to get up to around 40˚ F today. Wind from the northwest will be moderate in speed with some stronger gusts along the exposed terrain. Anticipate more of the same through the week.
