While it's now difficult to trigger avalanches, they could be dangerous if you hit the wrong spot. If you see cracks shooting through the snow, experience loud collapses at upper elevations, or find obvious strong over weak layers in the snowpack, stick to slopes under 35 degrees or lower elevation terrain.
The wind that accompanied a storm on Friday into Saturday set off a small round of avalanches. Some of these may have run on layers that are slower to strengthen. Drifting may not be obvious and you may find the stiffer slabs buried under a thin layer of soft, light snow.
