Recently formed wind drifts and slabs are stabilizing but may still be sensitive to people today.

The most likely place to trigger an avalanche today is on high elevation steep wind drifted slopes, especially that face east and northeast.

The danger trend is decreasing and it is becoming less likely to trigger something.

    Fresh wind drifts that formed on Monday are becoming more stubborn each day. That said, you still could trigger one today, especially in areas where they are sitting on top of loose sugary faceted snow.

    If you avoid recently formed drifts right along the upper ridgelines, you'll stay out of trouble today. East and northeast facing steep slopes are the most suspect.

Snow and Weather

Current Conditions: Monday's little storm did a nice job refreshing riding conditions. It'll still be decent out there today. Temperatures got into the upper 20s and low 30s on Wednesday and stayed pretty mild overnight. The wind has been light to moderate in speed from the southwest.

Mountain Weather: We've got clouds headed our way today. They should increase as the day goes on. Temperatures will remain in the upper 20s and low 30s. Wind from the southwest will be moderate in speed. A small storm moves through Friday morning and I think we'll see a trace to 3 inches of new snow. Another small storm moves through Sunday that might produce slightly more snow.
