The snowpack is mostly stable. At higher elevations, a chance exists to trigger small, isolated pockets of slab in very steep cliff areas or extreme terrain. Be careful in the backcountry as many obstacles lurk just under the snow surface during these early season conditions.

( Discussion is generated from the previous day's afternoon forecast. )A Pacific cold front and trough will bring snow to the area Wednesday afternoon. The heaviest snowfall is to occur between 3 pm and 11 pm. Temperatures are to reach near twenty degrees and southwest winds are to have averages below fifteen miles per hour. At the upper elevations, snowfall amounts of four to six inches are possible by early Thursday. The general avalanche danger will be Low on Wednesday. The snowpack is mostly stable and avalanche activity is unlikely except for in small, isolated pockets in extreme terrain such as cliff areas.
