CM for 21.2. Thaw conditions continue. Snowpack moist and mostly stable in all areas. Remaining cornices may collapse. Low hazard.

Forecast Snow Stability: Little change is expected. The remaining snowpack will be moist, well consolidated and generally stable in all locations. Greatest snow cover will be on North through East to South-East aspects above 850m. Thaw conditions will continue throughout the forecasting period and further snow loss is expected. Any remaining cornices will be prone to collapse. The avalanche hazard will be Low.

Snowpack Structure

Forecast Weather Influences: Freezing level will remain above the summits. Light rain overnight, then becoming drier through the day. Strong to very strong West-South-West winds, backing to become South-Westerly in the early hours. Observed Weather Influences: A warm, wet and windy day with the freezing level above the summits. Gale force Westerly winds, easing to strong throughout the day. Wet initially, drier later. ObservedSnowStability: The snowpack is moist, well consolidated and generally stable in all locations. Thaw conditions throughout, causing the snow cover to become further depleted. Remaining cornices prone to collapse. Greatest snow cover is on North through East to South-East aspects above 850m. The avalanche hazard is Low.
