The general avalanche hazard is MODERATE above an elevation of 8,500 feet and LOW below that elevation. At the higher elevations the potential continues for people to trigger full depth, hard slab avalanches in very steep terrain. Larger loads such as snow machines may be necessary to trigger such an avalanche.

Snow showers are to develop in the afternoon and increase through the evening. Some rain may fall in the lower elevations and valleys during the afternoon. Highs in the mountains are to reach the low thirties and winds are to be southerly to easterly at 10 to 15 miles per hour. The general avalanche hazard is expected to be: LOW in the Tetons where backcountry users have the potential to trigger isolated pockets of surface slabs to eighteen inch depths in steep, shaded terrain. MODERATE in the Togwotee Pass area where the possibility persists to trigger full depth hard slabs in some areas of very steep terrain. Larger triggers such as snowmachines may be necessary to initiate such an event. MODERATE in the Southwest Trails/Greys River area where backcountry riders and skiers have the potential to trigger full depth hard slabs in steep terrain as well as surface slabs to twelve inches in depth on very steep shaded slopes. Rain during the day may cause the release of wet slides on steep banks and roadcuts at lower elevations in all areas.
