You can trigger an avalanche on any wind-drifted slope. Winds over the weekend will build thin slabs on east, southeast, and south-facing aspects, which rest on weak snow and may be easy to trigger. On north through east aspects, avalanches may step down to deeper weak layers, although areas where the slab is still intact are becoming harder to find. Have caution where you find more than six inches of drifted snow. You can find safer travel on lower elevation slopes that are sheltered from the wind.
