In sintesi

At the summit level strong southwest winds last night loaded available snow onto leeward aspects. At the mid and upper elevations humans who venture into steep, wind loaded avalanche starting zones and cliff areas could trigger slab avalanches up to two feet in depth. Triggering even a small slab avalanche above a cliff or terrain trap on in steep rocky terrain could have significant consequences. Avalanches are unlikely at the lower elevations.

At the upper elevations pockets of soft, surface slab one to two feet in depth could be triggered by humans in steep avalanche starting zones and cliff areas. At the mid elevations low hazard does not mean no hazard. Humans who venture into extreme terrain like steep chutes, couloirs or cliff areas could trigger isolated pockets of soft surface slab up to 18 inches in depth.

Avalanche Discussion

Dry and calm conditions will prevail during the next 24 hours. Expect increasing clouds on Saturday with temperatures rising into the 20s from overnight lows in the low teens in the mountains and near zero in the valleys. Winds will be southwest to west at 13 to 18 miles per hour.Mostly stable snow exists in the Teton Area where the general avalanche hazard is expected to be LOW. Faceted snow near the base of the snowpack remains a concern in the Continental Divide/Togwotee Pass and Southwest Trails/Greys River Areas where the general avalanche hazard is expected to be MODERATE above an elevation of 8,500 feet.
