In sintesi

Mostly stable snow exists in the backcountry this morning. As sunlight and warming temperatures weaken the snow surface at the mid and high elevations this afternoon, small human triggered and natural wet slides may become possible. At low elevations temperature inversions will keep the snowpack slightly cooler and mostly stable.

Avalanche Discussion

A weakening storm moving into the area will bring clouds and an increasing chance for light snow with new snow accumulations of 2 to 4 inches possible in the mountains between late Friday afternoon and Saturday morning. Daytime highs will rise to near 20 degrees in the mountains. Ridge crests winds will be south-southwesterly at 15 miles per hour. The general avalanche hazard is expected to be LOW. Mostly stable snow exists and avalanches are unlikely.
