The General Avalanche Hazard is LOW at all elevations. Isolated pockets of slab, 6 to 12 inches deep, could be triggered by backcountry travelers at the Upper elevations in steep, wind-loaded starting zones near ridgelines. These slabs will become more susceptible to failure as the day warms, particularly if the rain line rises above 9,000 feet. Warm temperatures and rain could also result in wet loose sloughs below 9,000 feet.

A shortwave trough is expected to move through the region Sunday night and into Monday bringing possible accumulations of 6 to 10 inches at the higher elevations by Monday evening. Overnight lows in the mountains should dip into the teens before rising into the low 20s during the day. The valley should see lows near 30 and highs in the mid 30s. Strong Southwesterly winds at 25 to 40 mph, with gusts near 60, are projected to continue.The General Avalanche Hazard is expected to increase to MODERATE on Monday. New snowfall and strong Southwesterly winds will continue to build upon existing slabs up to 18 inches in depth. These slabs, which lie upon excellent sliding surfaces, could be triggered by backcountry travelers on steep, wind-loading starting zones.
