Avalanche Activity

Outgoing longwave radiation during the night will be reduced in some case. More moist snow slides and avalanches are possible.

In particular in the Prealps a partly overcast night. The surface of the snowpack will only just freeze. From late morning the weather will be partly cloudy. The danger of moist and wet avalanches will already increase in the late morning. In particular on very steep slopes more small and medium-sized moist and wet avalanches are possible as the moisture increases. Backcountry tours should be started very early and concluded timely.

Snowpack Structure

Outgoing longwave radiation during the night was reduced in some cases. The surface of the snowpack will freeze to form a strong crust only at high altitudes and will soften earlier than the day before. This applies in particular below the tree line. Below approximately 2200 m no snow is lying on south facing slopes. Some rain will fall in particular in the Prealps. As a consequence of mild temperatures and high relative humidity the snowpack can not consolidate during the next few days.

Tendency

Monday: Little rain will fall. The avalanche danger will persist.
