Avalanche Activity

In regions exposed to heavier precipitation the avalanche prone locations are more widespread.

As a consequence of the precipitation, the likelihood of moist and wet avalanches being released will increase gradually. The avalanche danger should be investigated very thoroughly in the relevant locality. The avalanche prone locations are to be found in particular at the base of rock walls, and adjacent to ridgelines and in gullies and bowls. Places where weaknesses exist in the old snowpack are especially precarious. The avalanches can be released in deep layers of the snowpack. Gliding avalanches can also occur.

Snowpack Structure

Moderate precipitation, locally heavy; snow at higher altitudes. The weather conditions will give rise to increasing and thorough wetting of the snowpack over a wide area. Snow cover and snow depth vary greatly depending on exposure and elevation. At low and intermediate altitudes a little snow is lying on south facing slopes. Weak layers exist in the snowpack in particular on shady slopes.

Tendency

The weather will be cloudy.
