Forecast Snow Stability: The snowpack will remain generally stable in most locations. Localised surface wet snow instabilities will exist in sheltered areas where overnight new snow accumulates, these areas are not expected to be deep or extensive and will mainly exist in summit gully exits and corrie rims and should generally be avoidable. The avalanche hazard will be Low.

Forecast Weather Influences: Cooler temperatures overnight then a return to milder conditions on Wednesday as the freezing level rises above the summits. Some light snow is expected overnight then light rain and drizzle later in the day. Winds through the day will be mainly West-South-Westerly fresh to strong. Observed Weather Influences: Milder and wet conditions overnight with a strong to gale force generally Westerly airflow affected the area. A return to cooler drier conditions today has been accompanied with West-North-Westerly gales. The freezing level was around 1100 metres. ObservedSnowStability: The snowpack is mainly soft and moist with generally good stability. Isolated surface wet snow instabilities exist on the steepest slopes but these are generally avoidable. The avalanche hazard is Low.
