In sintesi

No significant changes in conditions over the last few days.

There is an overall LOW avalanche danger on the Manti Skyline.

Keep in mind "LOW" danger doesn't mean "NO" danger.

If you are pushing the limits into lots of steep, radical northerly facing terrain, you are much more likely to find trouble.

There is not much going on within the snowpack right now that warrants much discussion. The old weak snow from October which was acting as a Persistent Weak Layer appears to be dormant at this time. The snow surface is becoming somewhat loose in some locations on west, north and east facing slopes. This is something that I'll be keeping an eye on before we bury it with new snow as it could act as a weak layer once buried. Time will tell.

Snow and Weather

Current Conditions

Overnight temperatures cooled into the teens and there's a little northwest wind along the higher terrain.

Mountain Weather

It looks like it'll be mostly cloudy today with highs in the low 20s. Thursday looks similar with perhaps slightly fewer clouds. A small storm will move through the state on Friday which might bring a trace to a couple of inches of snow. The weekend looks sunny.
