New snow and wind slabs: These conditions fostered a gradual rise in the danger of dry avalanches in particular above the tree line.

As a consequence of new snow and wind the avalanche prone locations will become more prevalent. In particular very steep slopes as well as adjacent to ridgelines and in pass areas: The fresh wind slabs can be released easily or naturally. Several small and, in isolated cases, medium-sized dry avalanches are to be expected. In steep terrain there is a danger of falling on the hard crust.

In some localities 15 to 25 cm of snow will fall above approximately 2000 m. As a consequence of rising temperatures and solar radiation a crust formed on the surface during the last few days, not only on sunny slopes, including on shady slopes. Less snow than usual is lying. The snowpack will be generally subject to considerable local variations. Towards its base, the snowpack is faceted.

Several small to medium-sized natural dry avalanches are possible as a consequence of new snow and strong wind.
