The general avalanche hazard is MODERATE above an elevation of 8,000 feet. In steep avalanche terrain, skiers and riders have the potential to trigger sensitive soft slabs to a foot in depth that may also involve older hard slabs to the ground. These events may be caused by the first person on a slope or after it has been crossed many times.
