The chance continues for riders and skiers to trigger persistent slabs in the backcountry. Greatest areas for concern for these events are steep avalanche starting zones and terrain in and around cliffs. Warming temperatures and sunlight will increase the sensitivity of these slabs as well as provide the chance for small wet loose slides. Avalanches below 7500 feet are unlikely.
On some very steep slopes slabs up to three feet deep lie upon weak faceted snow near the base of the snowpack. These slabs could be triggered by a rider or skier even after a slope has been tracked and are to increase in sensitivity this afternoon due to warming.

Mountain temperatures are expected to reach the upper twenties to low thirties and southwest winds are to be light. The general avalanche hazard is expected to remain Moderate. In the Tetons the chance continues to trigger pockets of wind slabs to eighteen inch depths in steep avalanche starting zones and cliff areas. In the Southwest Trails/Greys River area and in the Togwotee Pass area persistent slabs to three feet could be triggered in steep terrain where they are underlain by weak faceted snow.
