In sintesi

Areas of unstable snow exist at the mid and upper elevations. New, light-density snow along with southwesterly winds have continued to build wind slabs along ridgecrests and cross-loaded slopes. These slabs, up to 18 inches deep, could be triggered by backcountry travelers on steep, wind-loaded starting zones. In areas that have been less wind affected, loose sluffs could be started in steep slide paths, sweeping riders over cliff bands or into terrain traps. Avalanches are unlikely at the lower elevations due to shallow snow depths.

Avalanche Discussion

Widespread light snow will continue Monday night into Tuesday morning. Winds with this snow will be from the Southwest at 25 miles per hour. A stronger low pressure system will bring additional snow by Tuesday afternoon. Temperatures will rise to the low twenties at 9500 feet. The General Avalanche Hazard is expected to be CONDSIDERABLE on Tuesday morning. Increased snowfall and winds will create and add volume to slabs. The increasing snow and rising temperatures will cause slides to become more sensitive to triggering through the day. Lee slopes under ridgecrests, cross loaded areas and steeper pitches should be avoided. Deeper hard slabs, which lie upon weak, faceted snow, persist primarily in the Togwotee Pass and Greys River areas, and could still be triggered on easterly and northerly aspects.
