In sintesi

The snowpack is mostly stable. The slight potential continues for riders or skiers to trigger isolated pockets of hard slab in very steep, rocky terrain.

Avalanche Discussion

( Discussion is generated from the previous day's afternoon forecast. )Light snow will continue through Sunday. Accumulations of three to five inches of snow by Sunday evening are expected in the mountains and a trace to one inch on the valley floors. Sunday temperatures will remain in the low 20s and ridge top winds will be southwesterly at 10 miles per hour. The avalanche hazard is expected to be LOW Sunday morning and may rise to MODERATE in the afternoon. The new snow falling on weak, slick surfaces will create the possibility for easily triggered soft slabs or sloughs to a foot in depth by the evening. New slides may increase the potential of releasing isolated pockets of older slab in very steep, rocky terrain at upper elevations.
