The fresh snow and the wind slabs can be released easily or naturally. In particular at the base of rock walls and adjacent to ridgelines and in gullies and bowls small and medium-sized avalanches are possible. Avalanches can in isolated cases be triggered in the old snowpack. Backcountry touring calls for careful route selection.

In some localities up to 40 cm of snow has fallen since Sunday above approximately 1200 m. As a consequence of a strong wind from northerly directions, wind slabs formed since Sunday above the tree line. The strong wind has transported the new snow significantly. In particular in gullies and bowls, and behind abrupt changes in the terrain the prevalence and size of these avalanche prone locations will increase, in the regions exposed to a lot of wind, also at a distance from ridgelines. Wind slabs are to be avoided.

As a consequence of rising temperatures solar radiation the snowpack will consolidate during the next few days.
