Beware of wet and glide snow avalanches on steep slopes.
In the Fatras and the eastern part of the Low Tatras it persists above the 1200 m above sea level. Moderate avalanche danger, 2nd degree. The main avalanche problem is wet snow and all orientations are dangerous. Avalanches are possible with a small additional load, especially on steep slopes. However, spontaneous foundation avalanches are also expected throughout the day, especially on sunless slopes, which may hit valley or access roads.
Rain showers are expected below the 1500m mark during Tuesday. The snow cover will become soaked throughout the profile and lose its strength. Ridges and mountain tops are blown into the grassy base. The snow cover is very localised and ranges from 20 to 100 cm. A continuous snow cover is found from 1200 m above sea level.
