Generally low danger but snowdrift patches at summit level
Generally low danger but snowdrift patches at summit level
Avalanche danger is low in general. Near ridges and behind discontinuities in the terrain, thin snowdrift patches have formed which can be triggered as slab avalanches even by 1 person.
A bit of fresh snow from the weekend was transported to all aspects, but the drifts are rather small. The snowdrift accumulations are poorly bonded with the surface. The surface hoar and faceted crystals are potential weak layers, also the still loose fresh snow. The old snowpack beneath them is compact, without marked weak layers.
Friday will be slightly cloudy, sunny in the afternoon, strong-to-stormy N/NW winds will be blowing. At 2000 m: -8 degrees.
Saturday will be sunny, somewhat milder. Avalanche danger will remain low.
