Forecast Snow Stability: Dry weak windslab will become more widespread on steep North through East to South-East aspects above 900 metres. Much better stability on less steep ground at lower altitudes where there will be a widespread crust. Good stability on all ridges and wind exposed locations. The avalanche hazard will be Moderate.

Snowpack Structure

Forecast Weather Influences: Becoming noticeably colder. Regular showers of hail, graupel and snow. Strong West-South-West airflow throughout. Observed Weather Influences: Overnight rain at all levels then much colder conditions from midnight onwards with occasional snow showers. Strong West-South-West winds. ObservedSnowStability: Poor stability overnight with wet snow avalanche activity on a few very steep East and North-East aspects. Much better stability in all locations with the onset of much colder conditions from midnight onwards giving rise to a widespread crust above 750 metres. Localised pockets of new thin windslab in place on a few very steep North-East to South-East aspects above 950 metres. The avalanche hazard is Low.
