In sintesi

SC 05/03. Isolated and shallow windslab on mainly SE to SW aspects above 900m. Elsewhere well bonded, stable snow. Av. hazard - Low

Avalanche Activity

SC 05/03. Isolated and shallow windslab on mainly SE to SW aspects above 900m. Elsewhere well bonded, stable snow. Av. hazard - Low

Forecast Snow Stability: The vast majority of the snow will be well bonded and stable. Localised accumulations of moderately bonded windslab will be encountered in wind sheltered locations above 900 metres on isolated West to North aspects and more frequently on South-East to South-West aspects. These deposits will be generally shallow and mostly avoidable. Best cover will be found above 800 metres with only patchy cover below 700 metres. The avalanche hazard will be Low.

Snowpack Structure

Forecast Weather Influences: No precipitation has been forecast. Fresh to strong, generally Northerly winds. 500 metre freezing level overnight, rising to 800 metres during the afternoon. Observed Weather Influences: Light, intermittent precipitation falling as snow above 750 metres, mainly overnight with just a trace during the morning. Fresh Northerly winds increasing and backing to become strong North-North-Westerly. Freezing level around 800 metres. ObservedSnowStability: Localised accumulations of moderately bonded windslab are present above 900 metres in wind sheltered locations on West to North aspects and South-East to South-West aspects. These deposits are of insufficient depth and distribution to affect the avalanche hazard. Elsewhere the snow is well bonded with mostly good cover above 800 metres. The avalanche hazard is Low.
