Avalanche Activity

Forecast Snow Stability: The snowpack will remain well bonded and stable. Fresh snow accumulations on the highest summits are expected to be sleet or wet snow and have good stability, deposits are not expected to be significant. The avalanche hazard will be Low.

Snowpack Structure

Forecast Weather Influences: South-South-Easterly winds increase overnight to become very strong during the day. After a dry night precipitation during the day will fall as snow above 1250 metres. The freezing level will rise to above the summits around dawn. Observed Weather Influences: It was a dry day with moderate Westerly winds. After a cold night the freezing level rose to around 1000 metres. ObservedSnowStability: The snowpack has refrozen and is firm and stable in all locations. The avalanche hazard is Low.
