Avalanche Activity

Slight increase in danger of moist avalanches as a consequence of warming.

The more recent wind slabs are mostly small. They can be released in some cases above approximately 2300 m, especially in gullies and bowls, and behind abrupt changes in the terrain in extremely steep terrain. As a consequence of warming, the likelihood of dry and moist avalanches being released will increase a little on rocky sunny slopes.

Snowpack Structure

The strong wind has transported some snow. The wind slabs have bonded quite well already with the old snowpack. At higher altitudes snow depths vary greatly, depending on the infuence of the wind. In all regions below approximately 2000 m from a snow sport perspective, in most cases insufficient snow is lying.

Tendency

The weather conditions will foster a gradual strengthening of the snow drift accumulations.
