Watch out for avalanches from warming.
At altitudes above 1600m above sea level. The Low Tatras are in moderate avalanche danger (2nd degree). During the last period of snowfall, up to 10 cm of new snow fell very locally. On the mountains above the forest belt, a strong north wind blew, which transported this snow to the leeward slopes of southern orientations. Here, unstable snow slabs and pillows have formed, especially under saddles, rock faces, in moguls and steep couloirs, which will become heavier during the day due to warming and sunlight and will form drifts or small avalanches.
At altitudes up to 1500 m above sea level, there is only patchy snow cover.
Due to the warming effect rising.
