Snow and West to Northwest winds have formed soft surface slabs in avalanche terrain. These slabs will be most sensitive on leeward slopes at the high elevations where skiers or riders could easily trigger them to depths of over two feet. At the mid elevations pockets to over a foot could be triggered and avalanches are unlikely at low elevations where little new snow was received.

A system to pass Northeast of the area carries the slight chance for light snow showers to the region, particularly East of the Continental Divide. Otherwise, skies are expected to be partly cloudy with mountain temperatures rising into the upper teens to low twenties. Ridge top winds are to increase slightly with 25-30 mph averages expected Friday morning, before decreasing slightly in the afternoon. The general avalanche hazard is expected to be Moderate. In steep wind loaded terrain at the upper elevations, skiers or riders will have the potential to trigger pockets of surface slab to two feet in depth. In isolated areas, weak layers persist at the base of the snowpack. Avalanches involving this layer are thought to only be possible in the Southwest Trails and the Togwotee Areas. Triggering such a slide is likely to require large loads.
