In sintesi

At the mid and upper elevations areas of unstable snow persist on steep, avalanche-prone slopes where the snowpack has a base of weak, faceted snow. Monday a skier triggered a hard slab avalanche on an east facing, steep slope at 9000 feet north of Teton pass. Yesterday, just south of the Jackson Hole Resort, three people on a south facing slope at the same time triggered an avalanche that swept over a high cliff. No people were caught or injured in these slides. Similar events should be expected in areas with shallow, steep snow. Avalanches are unlikely at the lower elevations.
