Forecast Snow Stability: The patchy snow will be well consolidated and stable. Low level snow will continue to slowly thaw. The snow on the very highest mountains will gradually start to firm up, especially along the Northern boundary of the area. The most extensive snow will be encountered above 900 metres. The avalanche hazard will be Low.

Snowpack Structure

Forecast Weather Influences: No precipitation. Fresh North-Westerly winds overnight, easing during the day as they back, to become light South-Westerly. Freezing level lowering to 900 metres overnight and then fluctuating around 1100 metres during the day. Observed Weather Influences: A day of low cloud and intermittent light rain. Moderate South-Easterly winds. Freezing level well above the summits. ObservedSnowStability: Thaw conditions are well established with the remaining patchy snowpack possessing soft, wet surface layers. The vast majority of the snow is well consolidated and stable with only isolated wet snow instabilities present, in the steepest locations. Deepest and more extensive areas of snow are now present above 900 metres. The avalanche hazard is Low.
