Forecast Weather Influences: Fresh to strong winds from a variable but generally Westerly direction. Mostly dry with precipitation in the afternoon falling as snow only on the higher summits. After an overnight frost the freezing level will rise above the summits by late afternoon. Observed Weather Influences: It was a dry day with light North-Westerly winds. The freezing level was around 900 metres. ObservedSnowStability: The older snowpack, mostly to be found on North to East aspects above 900 metres, is well bonded and stable. It became firm overnight and softened where it received direct sunlight. Accumulations of fresh snow, found on all aspects above 850 metres, are not significant. The avalanche hazard is Low.
